In 2014, I founded a fine art stationery and brand design company. As owner and creative director of Sage Paper Co., I specialized in watercolor and calligraphy for weddings, home décor, and small business branding. Though my focus turned elsewhere in 2018, Sage Paper Co. remains one of my proudest career accomplishments.
Over the course of 4 years, I built an online shop with 50+ products, taught over 300 watercolor & calligraphy students, designed bespoke wedding invitations for brides across the world, built impactful & authentic brands for fellow creative small business owners, had work featured in 30+ prestigious publications, and I found my niche as both an artist and an educator. Along with creating brands for other businesses, I also led the creative direction and execution of the Sage Paper Co. brand—including an award-winning company website.

What began as a small online shop of cards and art prints, grew into a luxury wedding stationery and brand design business.
the story behind the business
Ironically, as my role shifted from wedding stationery designer to a bride myself, I chose to close the doors of Sage Paper Co.
Sometimes saying yes to something greatmeans saying no to something good. In a season of getting married and then supporting my husband through his nursing degree, I stepped back from my own business to dive into other companies whose missions I admired and teams I could invest in.
My entrepreneurial spirit lives on to this day—showing itself in strategic branding and product design for mission-based companies—and I owe it all to Sage.
In late 2018, my life and career made a pivot.
I hosted weekly watercolor and calligraphy workshops—educating over 300 students how to tune into their creativity. I also had the honor of teaching brand strategy, product styling, and the basics of brush lettering at online and in-person conferences across the U.S.
From there, I found my passion as an educator in the design industry.
