Branding in action:

The final step in this project was building out an in-depth, 22-page Brand Guide to equip Courtney with all the tools needed to create future brand assets: mission statement, brand personality outline, logo varieties + usage guidelines, color palette + color codes, primary and secondary typefaces, typeface hierarchy outline, and image styling guide.

Easy-to-use Brand Guidelines

My goal was to create a set of guidelines that would empower Courtney to hit the ground running on her new business assets. A key part of this was outlining clear typeface hierarchy and giving examples of how to implement the styles on her website, as seen below.

Using easy-to-reference brand guidelines, integrate the newly established brand identity into her existing website template.

After defining her brand's mission, audience, and voice—the foundation was set and we were ready to begin exploring her visual identity. I developed 3 brand visual concepts, each including a unique mood board, color palette, typekit, and select keywords from the previous exercise. With the concepts narrowed down to 1, I then built 3 unique logo sets to choose from. A few final tweaks and...voila! Her logo set, color palette, and typekit were complete.

Build a strategic visual brand identity.

02.

During our initial meeting, I asked Courtney a series of questions to dive into the story and mission behind her business. From there, I built a list of keywords and a mood board of images to be used as a reference tool when writing website copy, marketing material, and client pitch decks.

Define the brand voice with keywords and visuals.

Project scope:

Courtney came to me in the early stages of building her brand-new fractional COO + Integrator business, Monarch COO. With her name and mission statement already nailed down, she hired me to help her build the voice and visual branding strategy behind her business.

With more than 10 years of experience serving eCommerce companies, from startups to established enterprises, Monarch COO is committed to helping mission-driven companies grow profitably. My goal was to develop a sophisticated and approachable brand identity, instilling the trust and confidence needed to attract those 7 and 8-figure businesses in search of transformational growth.
